Transferability and Proofs

چکیده

In particular, he adds, “A’s intending that the recognition should play this part implies . . . that he does not regard it as a foregone conclusion that the belief will be induced in the audience whether or not the intention behind the utterance is recognized.” The motivation for this particular condition is a series of examples in which A utters x with the intention of inducing a belief, and with the intention that this intention be recognized, but where (because the recognition of the intention plays no essential role in the formation of the belief) we don’t want to say that A “means” anything by x. These examples include Herod presenting Salome with the head of John the Baptist (to get her to believe that John the Baptist is dead); a child letting its mother see how pale it is (to get her to believe that the child is ill); and a contrast between the case of presenting Mr. X with a photograph of another man being unduly familiar with his wife, and drawing a picture of the same situation. However, counterexamples to this requirement have been proposed.

Randomized Arguments are Transferable

Easwaran has given a definition of transferability and argued that, under this definition, randomized arguments are not transferable. I show that certain aspects of his definition are not suitable for addressing the underlying question of whether or not there is an epistemic distinction between randomized and deductive arguments. Furthermore, I demonstrate that for any suitable definition, rand...

This study was an attempt to investigate perceived pragmatic transferability of L1 refusal strategies by Persian EFL learners. S...

Final Analytical Comparison of Aggregate and Disaggregate Mode Choice Models Transferability

Transportation models as  tools for transportation planning are critical to such related decisions. Considering the high cost of calibrating and validating such models, effective alternatives are highly sought for; one such alternative being the use of models calibrated for other cities. This calls for transferability analysis which has not been the subject of many researches. Due to criticalit...

3-Move Undeniable Signature Scheme

In undeniable signature schemes, zero-knowledgeness and non-transferability have been identified so far. In this paper, by separating these two notions, we show the first 3-move confirmation and disavowal protocols for Chaum’s undeniable signature scheme which is secure against active and concurrent attacks. Our main observation is that while the signer has one public key and one secret key, th...

Anonymous and Transferable Electronic Ticketing Scheme

In addition to these requirements, the transferability of a ticket from one user to another (without involvi...
